Thai Red Cross AIDS Research Centre (TRC-ARC), SEARCH

The Thai Red Cross AIDS Research Centre (TRC-ARC) was established as part of the Thai Red Cross Society in 1989 in response to the unfolding HIV epidemic in Southeast Asia, and its on-site VCT clinic currently serves more than 30,000 clients per year. SEARCH is a joint undertaking with the US Military HIV Research Program (MHRP) and the TRC-ARC that conducts clinical studies in acute HIV infection, HIV cure, neuro-AIDS, and vaccines. SEARCH has conducted 27 studies, 5 of which were NIH funded. The TRC-ARC laboratory is managed by HIV-NAT and is one of only 4 College of American Pathology (CAP) accredited laboratories in Thailand.
