Summer Zheng, Ph.D.

Dr. Zheng is a Senior Research Scientist at the Center for Biostatistics in AIDS Research in the Department of Biostatistics in Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. She is the Associate Director of Statistical Data and Analysis Center (SDAC) for the AIDS Clinical Trials Group (ACTG) and representative to the ACTG HIV Reservoirs and Viral Eradication Transformative Science Group. As a senior statistician within the ACTG, Dr. Zheng has led the design and analysis of 17 ACTG clinical trials and mentored junior staff in these and many other projects. In addition to leading multiple ACTG studies in HIV reservoirs and viral eradication, Dr. Zheng is collaborating with clinicians from Mass General on a NIH-funded pilot clinical trial for HIV-1 eradication. She is also the co-director of the Biostatistics and Bioinformatics scientific research support of the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center’s Collaboratory awarded Martin Delaney Collaboratory grant for HIV Cure Research by NIAID. Dr. Zheng’s statistical research has been motivated by design- and data-related challenges that arise in HIV/AIDS trials, and she has presented her work at international conferences and published in both biomedical and biostatistics journals.
